RemindMe Tab (“the extension”) is a browser extension that lets you set a reminder for a tab so you can come back to that page later. It is developed by Suvesh Moza (“we”).

This policy explains what the extension stores on your device and how that information is used. The extension does not have user accounts, and it does not send your reminders or browsing data to us or to any other server.

Information stored on your device

When you create a reminder, the extension saves it in your browser’s local extension storage (storage.local). That storage stays on your device. It is not synced to your other devices and it is not uploaded anywhere.

Each reminder can include:

  • The page title
  • The page URL
  • The browser’s internal tab id
  • When the reminder should fire
  • When the reminder was created
  • Snooze time, if you snooze it
  • Repeat settings, if you make it recurring (pattern, interval, and when it should stop)

The extension also keeps a few small local values so reminders work correctly:

  • A link between a notification and its reminder, so clicking the notification can open the right page
  • The id of a reminder you chose to edit from a notification
  • The last extension version for which the changelog page was opened, so that page is not opened again for the same version

The extension reads the title and URL of the tab you are on when you open the popup, so it can attach a reminder to that page. It does not record your browsing history, and it does not read the contents of pages.

A saved URL or page title can contain personal information if that page’s address or title already does (for example, a page you are logged into). The extension stores that text only because you set a reminder for that tab.

How that information is used

Stored information is used only to provide the reminder you asked for:

  • Schedule the reminder
  • Show a notification when it is time. The notification includes the page title.
  • Focus the original tab when you click the notification, or open the saved URL if that tab is already closed
  • Let you edit, snooze, stop, or delete the reminder
  • Open the RemindMe Tab changelog page in a new tab after an extension update. That visit does not include your reminders or any identifier.

Permissions

The extension requests these browser permissions:

Permission Why it is used
Storage Save reminders on your device
Alarms Fire a reminder at the time you set
Notifications Show a reminder notification
Tabs Read the current tab when you open the popup, and focus or reopen the saved page when you click a notification
Active tab Access the tab you are viewing when you invoke the extension

The extension does not request access to all websites, and it does not inject scripts into pages you visit.

Sharing

We do not receive your reminders. We do not sell them, share them, or use them for advertising. The extension does not include analytics, crash reporting, or third-party trackers.

Your browser and operating system display the notification on your device. That stays local to your device.

How long information is kept

A reminder stays in local storage until you delete it, or until a one-time reminder has finished and is removed. Recurring reminders stay until you stop them or they reach the end condition you set.

Uninstalling the extension removes its local storage, including your reminders. You can also remove the extension’s data from your browser’s extension settings.

Children

RemindMe Tab is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
